Raw Foods for Longevity and Health (+ Walnut Pate Recipe)

Fresh & Spicy Organic Walnut Pate

Rich in omegas, helping with brain function as well as bone and joint growth and health, walnuts are special nuts. Try out this walnut pate recipe below.

To make:

  • Soak 8 ounces of fresh organic walnuts – for really fresh taste, shell them yourself — for 4-6 hours.
  • Add in some freshly-ground black pepper.
  • Add a generous teaspoon of Thai kitchen curry paste and/or fresh ginger, garlic, or turmeric to taste.
  • Add teaspoon of Organic Mellow White Miso.
  • Add Celtic sea salt or any salt of your choosing.
  • Add 1 cup of chopped organic celery.
  • Add in some chopped scallions or leeks (optional).
  • Add in fresh herbs to taste (e.g. sage, basil, oregano).
  • Add juice of a fresh lime.
  • Process in a Cuisinart, vita mixer, or any good food processor to a thick pate consistency.
  • Lace with black or green olives.
  • Serve with cucumber slices, celery slices, rice cakes, or crackers.

Variation to the pate: add Brazil nuts or sunflower seeds to change or add flavor and different nutrients.

Transform Pate into Salad Dressing

Also one can add more water, some flax oil, more lemon or balsamic vinegar, and transform the pate into a thick, nourishing dressing.

And then can pour over baby greens, tomatoes, yellow peppers, and avocado.

Rest assured this is a filling salad. But, if the strict purist approach isn’t for you and you think you need more to fill the palate, have a warm sweet potato, a warm baked potato, or steamed rice and broccoli.

Alkaline Addition to Pate and Salad

A good addition to a baked potato is to grate a couple tablespoons of carrots into the center of the potato, sprinkle with kelp powder and olive oil and eat it with a salad (i.e. the one above).

Potatoes are an alkaline food. So, between the enzymes and the alkaline potato, there is no room for degenerative disease. The beta carotene in the papaya, yellow peppers, and sweet potato nourish the lining of the lungs and boast immune function!
